I taught my first CS50 seminar today! An intro to Solr

Standard

The seminar was called Search and Browse Superpowers: an Introduction to Solr. The video is posted here. It was a lot of fun and I hope those who attended enjoyed it. If you attended, you can post comments below and I would much appreciate if you filled out the poll below, so I can make it better for next year.

  1. Interesting presentation. I don’t usually work with applications myself, but have worked with Open Source tools and products in the past including Snort, Base, ACID, RDDTOOL, NETREG, MRTG, ANALOG etc.. Working with configuration or XML wasn’t entire unknown to me, so I was able to get the gist of your talk. I reposted your presentation details http://bit.ly/tmTx3R, to my contacts at the ICTTF.org group in Dublin, Ireland.

If there were any folks, interesting in improving data search capabilities or indexing, your presentation on Solr, may be a option to consider. The members of the ICTTF, come from a variety of backgrounds in Information Technology. So I am sure, that there are folks that work more closely with applications like Solr or Lucene.
